RECAP:
Science of Right Action:
- Engaging the mind with purpose
- Letting go of the outcomes
How? Shifting our attitude from focusing from outcome to action:
- Using a planner
- Unitask routine
- Undertake more
We can do more with these methods.
DISCOURSE:
All actions are prompted by desire. There is no such thing as doing nothing, it’s really just idleness. When there’s no direction, we fall for everything. I am my own worst enemy.
Responsibilities are opportunities:
- Responsibilities come unasked with age
- Ignorance is not an excuse
- Our responsibilities are thankless (no expectation of reward)
What are evolution actions? What are devolution actions?
Evolution:
- Regular responsibilities (ex: brushing your teeth)
Constantly evolving and accumulating (daily)
2. Special responsibilities (ex: welcome family friends when they come once in a while)
It’ s occasional (it’s hard, 90% of work is starting) as you do more, you’ll undertake more
Devolution: make us feel smaller, making us dependent on outcomes; take us further away from our nature (ex: cheating on an exam)
- Selfish actions
- Prohibited action: illegal actions
What about alcohol and drugs?
- Evaluate your intentions, is it helping you or is it hurting you?
ACTIVITY:
Skits: Come up with a skit in your breakout rooms to demonstrate evolution and devolution.
Whatever you do whether it be before or after the fact, always ask yourself is this action facilitating my evolution or devolution? When we become clear about what type of action we have done or will do, we can leverage ourselves
