Review

Shankarji reviewed our past virtue, which was Viveka or Prioritization. Viveka means to organize your days and tasks.
Lesson

Today’s virtue was Vairaagya which means Acceptance. To show what Acceptance can do to your life, Shankarji showed us an episode of Adventure Time.

Story

It started when Finn and Jake were fighting off zombies. Finn was using his favourite – but broken – sword. He nearly got hit by the zombies, but Jake fought them off. Jake told him that he needed a new sword. Finn agreed, and they headed to the market. They went to a new shop, a grass shop, which people said had the best swords. They went in and to a desk. They heard someone say, “What do you want?” . They asked for a sword, and a mostly hidden person gave them a grass sword the Finn liked. They took it and went home. They went out for pie, and the shop owner asked Finn to cut an apple. When Finn did it, the shop worner said the sword was cursed. They laughed at her. Finn realized that the sword was powerful, and he accidentally showed off. He put the sword away and went to sleep. The next morning, it was in his hand again! It was latched onto his wrist! He pulled it off and threw it in the river. When he brushed his teeth, he happened to notice the sword (quite wet) leaning on the side of the wall! Jake stuffed the blade with bread, and they set off for the market to return it. The shop was gone! They went to their old market friend, Goose, and he told them that it was the grass wizard that sold them the sword. The grass wizard lived in the grass mountains, and the sword was definitely cursed. They journeyed up the grass mountain, and many grass monsters tried to stop them. But Finn used the grass sword and fought the grass monsters, and won! He didn’t think the sword was too bad in fighting. But he walked up to the house that the grass wizard lived in. The grass wizard laughed at them and told Finn he would never reverse the curse. Finn thought about this and smiled. “You know what?” he said. “I think I’m fine with that”. As soon as he said those words, the sword stopped latching onto his arm, and turned into a bracelet. Finn wanted it to turn back into a sword, and it did! Jake said the moral of the story — “Now that you have accepted it, you can control it!”

Lesson

When we are in a difficult situation, acceptance can help us work through the situation.

RAW

Today’s RAW was, ‘Whenever you have a UN-important decision, flip a coin!’ Which means, don’t flip a coin in a scenario like, ‘I have a choice to either do my homework or play games.’ Do it in a scenario like, ‘I have a choice to either watch TV or play video games.’ You have to follow what the coin says.
