Tapa – Discipline

October 18, 2023

Notes by Akilan Senthil

Review:

  • Last week’s keyword: Discipline.
  • Do what is needed to do first. Then do what you want to do.
  • RAW: Sit crisscross for five minutes every morning, before breakfast.

Story:

The hunters put a trap and the monkey’s favorite food was in the jar. The monkey’s hand got stuck in the jar because of the narrow opening that only allowed the monkey’s hand to go in, not come out. The hunter came to catch the monkey.

Lesson:

Don’t be greedy. Let go of things you love.

RAW:

Pick something from your room and donate it.

Review

We had a story about Finn and Jake and how they were different with their karma. Finn couldn’t go on the field trip because he didn’t finish his assignments but Jake did and could go on the trip. This story tells us to work before play.

Story

Hunters hunt monkeys with a jar that with a narrow mouth. They put a banana in the wide part and when the monkey puts its hand into the jar to get the banana, it makes a fist to get the banana out. However, its hand is stuck, but does not want to let go of the banana and is very focused on trying to get the banana it gets captured by the hunter.

Lesson

Letting go is a fact of life, even if it is your favorite thing.

Activity

Dwija Didi talked about not being able to hold onto air, sand, or water. We can also not hold onto other things forever.
