Class Summary Jan 21 2023
Our Vedas give complete knowledge of human existence.
- Karma: How laws of the action in the universe work
- Upasana: Dharma Jnana
- Vedanta: Brahma Jnana
When different people read Rama Charita Manas they feel they get all the three in different perspectives. Same with Shrimad Bhagavad Gita etc.
Vijayji next takes us to Bharadhwaj ashram, Prayagraj – reviews from previous verses (about Shri Rama). Then he takes us to Treta Yuga, where lord Shiva talks about Shri Rama to Sati. Adhikari’s qualification is taught here.
Tulsidas ji teaches Dharma so beautifully throughout this scriptures. You need a Guru to understand these subtleties.
Coming back to the story at the moment…
According to scriptures, kulam is very important when it comes to a marriage. Uma’s parents are concerned after Rishi Narada leaves.
Giriraj tells Maina to not lose hope and have some faith. Maina doesn’t know who the groom is going to be. However, Parvathy knows that Lord Shiva would be her husband.
D. 71: There are 2 things here. Whatever happens is only because it is Bhagavan’s doing. But, we should keep praying to God. Giriraj asks Maina to keep Bhagavan in mind and comforts her saying He will take care of Uma and her prarabdha.
We should keep Bhagavan in our minds when things go our way or not. He should be the center of our lives.
71.1: There are two ways of stubbornness : Tapah and Pata. Tapa is to evolve and pata is to devolve. When we need to evolve, lots of determination and stubbornness needed there! Giriraj asks Maina to explain to Uma to do tapasya if she needs to get a groom that Naradji had mentioned. When she gains Lord Shiva as her husband, all durgunas will be converted to saguna.
71.2: Giriraj mentions that whatever Naradji had mentioned is full of reason (pregnant with meaning). He says Lord Shiva is a mine of virtues and it would be such a blessing if Uma marries Him.
71.3:Â Â Maina is feeling a sense of relief and delight in her heart. She goes to Uma and makes her sit on her lap. She wants to explain, but Uma (Parvathy is sarvagya) knows that she should do things before she hears it from her parents.Â
Jai Shri Ram!
