Virtue of the week: Samadhana (Vision)

Samadhana means vision. Vision means that when you are feeling insecure you can have vision and see all you are capable of. This means that you shouldn’t compare yourself to other people. Vision is the opposite of feeling insecure. When you have vision, you can feel less insecure which would make you more happy.

Story

We watched “Adventure Time” where Fin was trying to impress Princess Bubble Gum. Then Princess Bubble Gum invited him to a science fair and asked him to speak. Fin said yes, even though he wasn’t that smart. Then he tries hard to become smarter. But in the end, he wasn’t able to. Then Fin decided to use magic. Fin got glasses and when he put them on, he become much smarter. These glasses represent vision. Fin was able to see his own potential and became very smart. Then when he goes to the science fair he makes a black hole! Then Fin takes off the glasses and destroys the black hole. This shows that even though he had the glasses, it wasn’t really who he was so he took them off.

Lesson from Story

Fin was able to realize his own potential with vision (samadhana) without comparing himself with others, which made him less insecure and more happy.
