In India a guy was swimming in a river. In the river he saw a tiny whirl pool. In that whirl pool there was a scorpion. So the man scooped some water ( with the scorpion in the water ) and put it on shore. However, whenever all the water escaped from the hands the scorpion stung the man. He kept trying multiple times until finally he just threw the scorpion and the water. Then the scorpion scurried away. When the man looked at his hands they were swollen and red and he looked like he was in pain.
A little girl who was observing this man and the scorpion went up to the man and said, “What were you doing? Look at your hands!” to which the man replied, “That scorpion is used to stinging and I’m used to helping.”
Another Story:
An African American named Nelson Mandela (who became president of the African National Congress) went to prison for 17 years because of his skin tone. And when he came out he made a law saying that all people should be equal. He could have easily decided to treat white people poorly but he didn’t.
Value of the Week:
- Being Loving
- See the sameness in everyone rather than the differences.
Practice:
Pick out a fruit and eat it in 6 minutes. Don’t forget to be patient and pace yourself.
To practice being patient you have to slow down. The more you loving you are the more patient you will be. The more patient you are the more loving you will be.
