Summary of last session (April 29) by Shri Mohan Khandekar
Shri Vijay ji started the session by recapping the story of Sati- Shiv-Parvati also called Trikuti (त्रिकुटी). Sati did not acquire the knowledge by not listening to Ramkatha. On the other hand, Parvati performed intense penance on recommendation of Shri Narad to ‘acquire” Shivji. Penance is considered to be higher than Dharma, does not give rise to action and leads to the doorstep of liberation.
Sapta Rishis go to Parvati, who now has a status of Guru after completing the Tapasya. Here Vijay ji reiterated the importance of Guru/ Bhagvan by citing the example of Satyanarayan Katha which symbolizes the strong bonding with Bhagvan.
89:1 “You haven’t completely understood Shiv ji” Parvati tells Sapta Rishis.
89:2 Here Parvati describes Shiv ji’s nature with following words:
Ajanma (अजन्मा): the one who is unborn
Anindya (अनिंद्य): the one without any faults, the one without any affliction
Akaam (अकाम): the one without any desire (कामना)
Abhogi (अभोगी): the one without enjoyer-ship
“I consider Him to be a Jogi and serve Him with love” Parvati declares. This pure love is none other than true devotion, which is expressed from mind, by speech and in action.
89:3 “It is your misconception that Shivji destroyed Kamdev”, Parvati, the Prakriti, advises Sapta Rishis.
89:4 Furthermore Parvati compares the relation between Kamdev and Shiv ji to dry leaves and fire, where fire burns the dry leaves because of its nature. Similarly passion gets demolished being in the vicinity of pure knowledge (ज्ञानी).
Doha 90: The Munis proceed to Himalaya, pleased by observing Parvati’s unwavering faith and devotion.
Before proceeding to the next Choupahi, Vijay ji reminded us that Ramcharit Manas comprises 12,000 Dohas and 120 Siddhantas (सिद्धांत).
90:1 Sapta Rishis reach the King of mountains, the Himalaya and narrate the whole story, which he receives with mixed feelings. On one hand he is sad to hear the news of destruction of Kamdev and on the other hand he is happy to know about the boon to Rati. Vijay ji’s comments: our life too revolves around the emotions of happiness and sadness.
90:2 The wedding date and precise time was finalized after studying the positions of stars and constellations as per rules laid out by Vedas.
90:3 The wedding invitation was given to Sapta Rishis with great reverence who in turn handed it over to Brahamji. Brahmaji was overjoyed to receive the news and passed it on to others.
90:4, Doha: Upon receiving the news, Devataas and Munis couldn’t contain their excitement and started getting their vehicles ready for the joyous occasion.
Vijay ji ended the session with a reference to Verse 31 Chapter 9 of Bhagavad Geeta about spreading the message.
क्षिप्रं भवति धर्मात्मा शश्वच्छान्तिं निगच्छति |
कौन्तेय प्रतिजानीहि न मे भक्त: प्रणश्यति || 31||
“Every devotee of mine will be virtuous and attain lasting peace. Go and spread these words with confidence, O Arjuna” Shri Krishna declares.
