Summary of last session (April 22) by Shri Mohan Khandekar

Shri Vijay ji reminded us that we have been discussing “Kamdev story” for the last few weeks, which though took place in  the time of Shiva and Parvati, exists today in the form of 

Avidya-Kaam-Karma (अविद्या काम कर्म) which binds us to Samsara. 

87:3 Once Devataas realized that Kamdev was destroyed, they along with Brahma and Vishnu approached Shiv ji and started singing His praises (पृथक -पृथक). Vijayji’s comments: Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are three unlimited powers, which are within us as well. We are limited by BMI. समष्टी x व्यष्टी.  A dialogue with Guru/ Bhagwan is very important to establish a relationship. 

87:4 Delighted by their gesture, Shiv ji asked the purpose of their visit. “You know Everything” with great reverence Brahmaji replied.

Doha 88: “We all want to witness your wedding” Brahmaji solicited their wish with devotion. 

To explain the meaning of  Devotion Vijay ji referred to Verse 34, Chapter 9 of Bhagavad Geeta.

मन्मना भव मद्भक्तो मद्याजी मां नमस्कुरु |

मामेवैष्यसि युक्त्वैवमात्मानं मत्परायण: || 34||

“Always think about Me,  prostrate to Me with devotion and you will reach Me'” Krishna assures.

88:1 “O, destroyer of Kamdev, we are happy that Rati received a boon after Kamdev’s destruction and we wish to witness the celebration of the wedding ceremony” the exuberant Devataas proclaimed. Vijay ji’s comments: Shivji destroyed Kamdev to culminate his ego.  Therefore we must get rid of our ego and greed to be close to Him.

88:2  The word “Sasati” means to rule (शासन करना). Parmatma rules to keep control. His punishment comes first, blessings later!.  The Devataas requested Shiv ji to kindly accept Parvati and reminded Him of her severe penance. 

88:3 Remembering Shri Ram’s words, Shiv ji agreed to the proposal. The Devataas rejoiced and celebrated when Shivji consented. 

88:4 Saptarishi arrived to move the wedding discussions further.
