Running From the Mind IX
We are delighted to announce the commencement of the 9th annual “Running from the
Mind” initiative, organized by Chinmaya Mission Niagara and Cleveland. This transformative journey
invites seekers of all experience levels to cultivate inner peace through long-distance
running and walking. The initiative will run from April 12, 2025 (Hanuman Jayanti) to
September 27, 2025 (Day of the Cleveland half-marathon). New this year, participants
will utilize the Strava app to track their running activities, fostering a connected and
supportive community.

About Running from the Mind:
“Running from the Mind” is more than a physical challenge; it is a spiritual endeavor that encourages participants to quiet their minds and deepen their self-awareness. By engaging in long-distance running or walking without external distractions, seekers can focus inward, observing their thoughts and emotions.
This practice aligns with the guidance of Vivekji, who emphasizes running or walking without input while chanting the mantra “Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” promoting mindfulness and inner tranquility.
We will also support a charitable organisation that buys and donates shoes to the needy.

Introducing Strava for Activity Tracking
To enhance our collective experience, we are incorporating Strava, a leading fitness-tracking application, into this year’s initiative. Strava allows users to record their activities, monitor progress, and engage with a global community of athletes.
By using Strava, participants can share their journeys, celebrate milestones, and support one another throughout the initiative. Seekers who register will be invited to join the ‘Running from the Mind’ group on Strava.
