How?
Plant 1008 outdoor plants
- Plant native trees, native shrubs, native perennial flowers/plants, and vegetables, fruits & herbs outdoor
- Plant at home or sign up for planting events in your community/area (Lots of planting events during Earth month – April)

EARTH

How?
Invest 1008 hours in collecting litter
- Clean up litter at parks, waterways (including beaches), road sides, neighborhood or other areas in your local community.
- Organize your own clean-up drive or join existing local events (lots of clean-up events during Earth month – April)

- Plant outdoor only
- Find plants native to your area from your local nursery and/or through the links below:
- Each type of vegetables, herbs and other small sets of plants would count as one (1) plant
- Search and sign up with friends and family for planting events in your community/area. Since April is Earth month there are a lots of planting events across various cities.

Join an existing event
- Join an existing event by doing a google search for:
- Park cleanup near me
- Waterway/ river/ beach clean up near me
- Earth day cleanup events near me
- Environmental groups near me
- Search their page for clean up events
- Materials needed: follow the guidelines from the event organizers
Organize your own
- Organize your own with family, friends, CM center, schools, clubs, neighborhood
- Planning checklists:
- Materials needed: suggestions from online resources
- Protective, reusable work gloves
- Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and bug repellent – dress for the weather
- Bring your own water
- Large trash bag – labeled as landfill or recycle
- Check with local waste management for accepted items for recycling
- Trash grabbers
- Precautions
- Beware of hazards such as sharp objects and glass – do not pick up these items.
- Do not reach into leaves or bushes to pull out trash. If you come across hazardous debris that requires equipment you do not have, notify the appropriate authority
