Notes by Siddharth Kudumula
We started the class with prayers and then we did few riddles.Â
After riddles, we were asked to tell one good and bad thing happened to us today.
How should we react if something good happens to us? We need to be thankful to god and people around us if some good happened. The good thing happened because of gods grace. Whenever we are thankful, we feel happy.Â
How should we react when something bad happens? We should not react, be calm, take rest and look at it in a different perspective. It is outside of our control. See the positives instead of the negative.
STORY
A saint went to river Ganga to take a bath. He saw a person who was a bully. When the saint came near him, he spit on him. The saint did not say anything, turned around and went and took a bath again. This happened multiple times. The saint did not react. When the saint coming for 101th time, the bully was very thirsty due to spitting, the saint gave him some water to drink and the bully started feeling bad.
The saint didn’t react and didn’t get mad at all and he was happy to take multiple baths in river Ganga and his mind became more calm and quiet. Instead of thinking about the bad thing, he was grateful that he got another chance to take bath.Whenever a bad thing happens to us, always look at it in different way and think about what we can learn from this situation.
Most of the times, we cant control many things in life but we can control the way we look at it (our attitude).
Activity:
Teacher picked random student and asked him to do few things which he doesn’t like to do – act out like a favorite animal, sing, dance etc and see how you feel if you don’t like doing it.
