Notes by Aarya Mishra

STORY –

A painter had been asked to paint a boat. He brought all of his supplies with him. He began to paint it a bright red, as asked. As he was painting, he noticed a small hole in the hull of the boat. If there is a hole in the hull, then the boat would sink. He quietly repaired it as well, and having been paid by the owner, he quietly left without saying anything. The next day, the owner of the boat was looking for him. When he found him, he gave him a check with a large sum of money. The painter at this was confused, and questioned the owners actions. The owner told him, that along with the painting, he had forgot to ask him to repair the hole in the hull as well. The painter said there was no reason to give him so much money for that. The man told him that his kids had taken the boat out for a fishing trip, and if he hadn’t repaired the hole, the boat would have sank, and his children wouldn’t come back.

MORAL –

Sumanji told us about the 3 C’s.

1. Channel. Channel your energy and excitement. It is also known as to concentrate. If the painter hadn’t been concentrating, he could have easily missed the hole, and the owners children would have died.

2. Cheerful. Cheerfully accept what comes your way. If the painter had decided not to do the hole, thinking that he wasn’t instructed to fix it, the children would never have made it.

3. Carefully. Carefully do your work. If the painter had poorly patched the hole, water could have leaked in and flooded the boat, causing it to sink.

ACTIVITY –

Sumanji said that today we would practice cheerful acceptance in an activity. The activity was, Sumanji would randomly pick someone in our class, and ask them to do something, like ‘Tell us your favourite show and why we should watch it.’, or ‘Give us facts on the color blue.’ We were to cheerfully accept the challenge he gives to us.
