Aniketa – At Home Everywhere

Notes by Aarya

Review

We did a quick review of what we learnt over summer. The 9 virtues that a student has to have.

Gurudev’s names

Shankarji asked us “Do you know what Admire means? What makes someone admirable?”

We are learning about the qualities that makes people admirable. The people that you hang out with more, those are the kids that you will admire. We should be careful about who we hang out with.

Swami Chinmayananda had a beautiful song written about him with his different names. We studied – “Om aniketaya namah”. Aniketa means “The person who has no home”.

The meaning of this sentence is no matter where this person goes, he feels like he is home. We are too caught up with mine and me. The virtue to be comfortable, treating every place as home is one of the qualities we should be learning.

Practice

Our practice was to wear our parents’ clothes. (so fun)

This practice shows to be comfortable even if you are in big clothes or in any situation.

RAW

This week’s RAW is to sleep in a different area every night. You can even make a little tent. Be creative.
